Just last night the Cubs beat the Cardinals 6-4 earning the national league division championship! Just as it was predicted in Back to the Future part 2. The Chicago Cubs are going to make it all the way. Now as we the fans keep holding our breath. It is time to celebrate in style. We have until Saturday to enjoy the win as we wait to see who the Cubs will play next. It could be the New York Mets or the L.A.. Dodgers My mom and I are hoping it would be the Mets for the time difference reason. Though whoever it may be, the Chicago Cubs will get through it. Last night after we won the four of us went out and bought the new shorts. My Dad even put on Cubs music that we have while driving over. When we won my mom was so happy she was crying and I believe she is still in shock. I am just excited as she is and wish that my Nanna was here. She would have had a huge bet at the nursing home she was at since everyone there are cardinals fans. Even though they are still in the state of Illinois. She would be yelling at the top of her lungs that the cubs won and have a party. I am not sure what the bet would have been but, I am sure everyone would have to be wearing Cubs shorts and state that the cubs are better than the Cardinals. That would be that start of it I am sure she would have made it more interesting. I even have my Cubbie Bear with me as I write this. I decided that he needed a vacation from working so hard with these games. He needed the time out of the house. With that, I would like to close with a poem I wrote a few years back as a birthday gift for my Mom. This poem can also be found in my first poetry book.
The World Series
Every year
Everyone holds their breath
For one day
Crossing their fingers
Every day
Just hoping that
Their home team
Makes it
Praying; cheering
Celebrating the day!
That day is when the
Chicago Cubs
WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!
ALL WAS QUIET!
This is the Year!

Lovely poem!
ReplyDeleteAlways hated the Cardinals. Their stadium was the closest to where I grew up in southern IL but used to cheer for the Mets as a child just to be different! Still hate sports of all types! Use the money spent on sports for education!
