Habit
The thing you
do each day.
Some good and bad
The good
work, and school
They keep you busy
and
make you think
The bad
drugs, drinking and more
what you not
want to do to yourself
Habits come in all different
kinds of sizes
What is your habit?
This is a poem I wrote just now I found a fun community that gives you a prompt and you are to write a poem on it so this is the one from Monday. So this would be a Monday thing hope you enjoy!

Beautiful, love it!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you I have a poetry book. If you want to check it out. Also I am publishing a second one in mid-september.
ReplyDeletedefinitely, I write poems myself. My favorite poet is Oriah Mountain Dreamer
ReplyDeleteI will have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteI like this poem, especially the way it juxtaposes good habits with bad ones. What I don’t like is the misspelling of the word “bisy.” I know you’ve said before that you are not good at spelling and grammar, but misspellings and errors in grammar can be so disconcerting that they take a reader out of the moment, and that’s the last thing a writer wants. Do you use spell-check?

While it is good to be supportive, these comments will not help you grow as a writer. You obviously have passion, and really want to succeed in this career that you’ve chosen. So I want to offer you some constructive criticism.
ReplyDeleteI would advise investing in Microsoft Word to catch spelling and grammatical errors. While MS cannot catch all the mistakes, it can help correct a great deal of them. (ex. bisy busy)
If you can’t afford Word, look on this list.
As for this poem in particular, it leaves a lot to be desired. You are just stating facts and observations. Poems are all about expressing thoughts and ideas in imaginative or colorful ways, or rewording prose into rhyming verses to tell a story differently.
What ideas are you trying to express by telling us what habits are bad and what habits are good?
Continue to rework your poems and stories, I believe in you.
Yes i do. I fixes it. I w toanted say busy. I have been just googling the words I do not know and just copying them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advise.
